# Standalone vs App-Synced

> How the two Open APIs differ and which one to use

VMEG offers two **independent** Open APIs. They share authentication, idempotency, and the response envelope; they differ in where jobs and data live.

## Which one to use

<Warning>
  Data is not shared between the two APIs: use one API end to end for a job (upload → create → poll). Material IDs, cloned voice IDs (`cv_*`), and task IDs from one API return `404` on the other; system voice IDs (`sv_*`) work on both.
